Hey there!
Can you believe it's already mid-April - I'm still waiting for that warm, lovely spring weather to finally kick in - come on now!
The kids are off this week for Spring Break. On Friday, we drove out to Cleveland, where my in-laws live, to spend Passover with family. It’s about a six-hour drive, most of it through Pennsylvania. The highway was only two lanes, so there was a lot of weaving around trucks—there were so many!
My in-laws have been hosting Passover for over 40 years, and we’re a group of about 25 people coming in from all over the country. It’s a short visit, but we pack a lot of family time into those 72 hours. It’s always so nice to catch up, reminisce, and see how much the younger kids have grown in just a year.
One of the highlights is our annual kickball game—adults vs. kids. It used to be a guaranteed win for the adults, but now that the kids are getting older (and stronger!), we’ve definitely lost our edge.
Passover is such a meaningful holiday, and I love that the seder dinners give us a chance to reflect together. It’s especially powerful to see the younger generations engaging with the stories and connecting it to their own lives.
We are back home now and this week we don’t have much planned while the kids are around — and honestly, that feels like a gift. During the school year, our house is a nonstop revolving door, so having this quiet stretch is really relaxing. We might head into the city for a nice dinner one night, but that’s about as much planning as I’m willing to do!
Here are a few favorite looks from the past week…
I'm especially loving these pants from Toast — the fit is just right, and the pleating adds such a flattering touch. I paired them with one of my go-to pieces: a raw silk tee from Ozma of California that I just can’t get enough of.
With the weather still in flux, I threw on this boiled felted-wool field shirt over a black denim outfit as I headed out the door. When it comes to dressing for any season, it’s all about the layers.
With summer just around the corner and spring break in full swing, I had an opportunity to try out a few caftans. One standout is this beautiful piece from the brand Two. The founder, who has both Indian and Italian roots, sources stunning sustainable fabrics, and her designs are perfect for travel—especially if you’re beach-bound this week for Spring Break.
