What I wore last week | 36
Life lately, my dear mother and a few favorite looks from the past week...
Hi!
Hope you all are well.
The past few weeks have been deeply emotional for me. With a heavy heart, I share that my mother passed away last Sunday at the age of 84. She fought bravely for four years against a relentless cancer. Thankfully, she remained pain-free until the very end. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones.
For me, the hardest part right now is not being able to pick up the phone to speak with her. I talked with my mom often throughout the day, and I’ve already found myself instinctively reaching for the phone, only to remember she’s no longer there. In these past few days, I’ve had moments where it suddenly hits me—I’ll never hear her voice again, and she’s truly gone.
She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a family that truly adored her and the gifts that she shared with the world (her artwork, her delicious recipes, her most beloved piano music books, etc…) With my mom’s passing, marking the end of her generation (my father died in 2017), I already feel a sense of responsibility to step into this new chapter and carry forward what comes next.
As I’ve spoken with friends who have lost their mothers, I’ve come to understand that this is a journey—one that will take time to navigate. Grief isn’t linear, and I know there will be moments of deep sorrow, unexpected waves of emotion, and also moments of warmth as I cherish the memories she left behind. While the pain feels very heavy right now, I take comfort in knowing I’m not alone in this experience and that healing will come in its own time.
At the end of this week, I’m heading to Nashville for some much-needed time with good friends. I’m looking forward to exploring the city, enjoying great food and conversation, and giving myself the space to process everything from these past few weeks.

My husband and I just wrapped up the second season of Severance, and wow—my head is still spinning! I enjoyed the show, and the acting was top-notch, but unraveling all the different plotlines could take me a lifetime. If you're looking for something mind-bending and out of the ordinary, this show is definitely for you!
Here are some favorite looks from this past week…
Below is a simple spring denim outfit idea with a fabulous linen tee by the brand Soldout! To me, having an array of great tee shirts is essential! And if you’ve been following along than you probably know that I try my very best to wear natural fabrics with teeshirts being no exception! Yummy cottons and linens are the perfect pieces to have against your skin year round!
Here’s another easy style idea for spring. I love this top I purchased last year from the brand Mirth. Their fabrics are lovely and handmade, sourced from local artisan communities! I’ve owned this basket honeypot bag below and it always gets good wear, especially as we enter the warm weather months.
Here's the latest style board I put together below. For more of these, you can visit the ‘Style Boards’ highlight located on my Instagram page (@dhoopshop)
That’s a wrap for this past week!
Squeeze your loved ones extra tight and enjoy the PRESENT moment!
Best, Dina
XOXO
